2009-2010 HUNTING SKILLS UNIVERSITY FLYER AND APPLICATION
- Feburary 21, 2009 - MDC/MOE Upland Game Hunt - To be held at the Twin Lakes Sporting Club in Audrain County.
- April 4-5, 2009 - MDC/MOE Youth Turkey Hunt
- April 8, 2009 - HSU Turkey Hunt Workshop - Educational event providing insight on turkey biology, calling, and hunting setup up.
- May 13, 2009 - HSU Small Game Hunting Workshop - Educational event providing insight on hunting upland game, rabbits and other small game.
- June 10, 2009 - HSU Big Game Hunting Workshop - Educational event providing insight on hunting tactics including Deer, Elk, Moose, and Antelope.
- June 18, 2009 - HSU Bowfishing Workshop - Educational night consisting of fish id, boat saftey, and bow set up. This workshop will be held in Jefferson City from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and is required to participate in the Bowfishing Event. Bowfishing Flyer
- June 19, 2009 - HSU Bowfishing - A night of bowfishing on the Osage River from 9:00- 12:00 p.m.
- July 15, 2009 - HSU Basics of Rifle Shooting - Evening of Rifle saftey, target shooting, and gun cleaning procedures.
- July 16, 2009 - HSU Basics of Shotgun Shooting - Evening of Shotgun saftey, patterning, ammo selection, and clay bird shooting.
- August 12, 2009 - HSU Waterfowl Hunting Workshop - Educational event on decoy set up, calling tactics, and waterfowl ID.
- September 2009 - HSU Youth Dove Hunt - date to be announced
- October 2009 - HSU Youth Duck Hunt - date to be announced
- Toby Olsen Memorial Youth Deer
Hunt (Oct. 31 - Nov 1, 2009) - For the third year,
the MDC and MOE will be working together to provide youth hunters
the opportunity to take their first deer.
Toby Olsen was a member of the 2003 MDC Hunting Skills University
(HSU)and passed away Fall 2007 due to injuries from an automobile accident.
It is our honor to carry on Toby's love of hunting and fishing
by naming our hunt the Toby Olsen Memorial Youth Deer Hunt.
