Well folks here is edition II of MOE NEWS. With summer right around the bend and the fact that school is out; sure everyone is very busy. You will be glad to know MOE staff has been very busy as well. There are several events fast approaching and it seems every day we are faced with another great opportunity or idea. We are trying our best to offer as many opportunities as we can for Missouri’s Youth.  I have to say it’s a very exciting time and as always MOE Staff invites anyone will a willing heart to step forward and lend a hand in whatever way you can. The more folks who believe in the MOE mission and are willing to take action the stronger and more capable MOE will be to provide and fulfill the needs of our outdoor future. I am going to use this news letter to basically just give an update of upcoming events.  Feel free to visit our website to learn more about MOE or our community forums and take part in some friendly outdoor conversation!

2008 MOE ARCHERY DAYS!
A great opportunity for kids to get there first taste of archery is quickly approaching. On Saturday June 21st MOE will be in Columbia MO at the American Legion Park. MDC is providing equipment including bows and arrows which will be adjustable for any kid regardless of age or strength. We are also proud to announce several members of the newly formed University of Missouri-Columbia Archery CLUB will be part of our event to help work with some youth and behind the grills.

MOE GOES HOLLYWOOD!
That’s right MOE Staff has been given the opportunity to be guest on the Pepper and Friends local talk show. We will be Live in the studio on Monday July 7th at 11:00 a.m. So tune in as we use this time to reach a lot of folks in the Mid-MO area and share what MOE is all about. We hope to be able to post some video online following the show for those of you out of the viewing area.

 A SUMMER SCHOOL THAT’S FUN!
A lot more than just hunters’ education is what Hunting Skills University (HSU) is all about. Although it’s not the actual certification class, HSU provides two packed evenings of Hands on Advanced Education. At HSU, youth will learn the latest in conservation practices; hunting methods and techniques to make them better hunters; and even shooting skills to make them better shots in the field.  Certified hunter education instructors along with Conservation Department staff will combine classroom lessons with practical exercises on the firing range.  Graduates of HSU will be eligible for follow-up guided hunts for many of the species they have studied. The classes are scheduled for July 15th and 17th from 6-9p.m.
